Surojit Chatterjee burst onto the scene of Bengali music in 1999 with his band Bhoomi, which he cofounded with Soumitra Ray, and the iconic song "Baranday Roddur". After more than a decade with Bhoomi, Surojit formed his own band in 2012 with his musician friends and appropriately named it "Surojit O Bondhura". He won the Radio Mirchi best male vocalist of the year 2012 for his first solo album Surojit O Bondhura and Radio Mirchi Best Album of the year 2013 for its album Folkira. His second solo album was Abhyontoreen. A versatile musician, Surojit often plays a multitude of instruments on stage, ranging from guitar, mandolin, flute, whistle, harmonica, khamak etc, and writes, composes, and sings his own songs.

Other band members are Gopen Dey Sarkar - one of India’s most skilled and renowned drummer . His skill and unique style have led him to perform on stages all over the world and to take part in many prestigious events like A R Rehman’s show in Kolkata . He is a regular accompanying drummer with doyens like Ustad Rashid Khan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Bappi Lahiri, Amit Kumar, Kumar Shanu, Usha Uthup, Shreya Ghosal, Shaan and many others. Somenath Motilal has been working in the Bengali music industry for the last 10 years as a music arranger and keyboard programmer. He has also accompanied many leading artist of Bengal and Mumbai on stage. Joyjit Saha has been professionally playing the guitar since 8 years of age. He learnt from eminent guitarists of India and has performed with Akriti Kakkar, Anuradha Padwal, Emon Chatterjee, Anweshaa, Anik Dhar, Tochi Raina etc. Mainak Sengupta and Rajib M Banerjee - Young, energetic, fresh voices adding a different dimension to the sound of Surojit O Bondhura, with bass guitar, backup vocals and a wide variety of percussion instrument.
